There are many reasons to spend you Winter Holidays in Australia. One of the biggest is that December is a hot month with a lot of sun and surf in Sydney, the second reason is the great number of events and festivals that keep the country rocking throughout the month.

This year, get your flights to Sydney in early December and you will be able to attend a major exhibition of one of the world's greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century "The First Emperor of China's Entombed Warriors". These legendary life-size Terracotta warriors have mesmerized audiences around the globe, and will return to Australia in December 2010. Their discovery was made by villagers in 1974, and exploration continues to this day at a place where the grand underground army was created to protect the tomb of the first Emperor of China, Qin Shihuang.

Plan a day's trip to "the Art Gallery of NSW" and be surrounded by these incredible stone figures. Various foot soldiers, each with different expressions, Generals with their heavy carved armors, cavalrymen, kneeling bowmen and chariot horses cast a spell and take you back in medieval times of swords, cross bows and brave hearts.

This exhibition is one of a kind opportunity in Australia to see over 120 spectacular treasures, in one place. The objects drawn from far off institutions in Shaanxi province and Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Emperor Qin Shihuang together and under one roof is rare to happen somewhere else.

The First Emperor of China's Entombed Warriors will present captivating image of numerous complete terracotta warrior figures displayed along with ceremonial vessels and bells, ornamental gold and jade, weapons and armor, palatial architectural remains, pottery and ceramics. Also, some of the significant recent finds including an exceptional life-size bronze crane and swan, only discovered in the last decade will also be on display.

The First Emperor of China Qin Shihuang (221–220 BCE) is to date, one of the greatest historic figures in China who unified the large country into one united China, leaving a legacy that has lasted over 2000 years. The specialty of this show at Sydney Art Gallery is that you can see these Chinese national treasures up-close and examine the details face to face with the army of Qin Shihuang.

The exhibition will last from December 02, 2010 to March 13, 2011 from 10am to 05pm (Wednesdays until 09 pm) at Art Gallery Road, The Domain, Sydney, NSW 2000. The Gallery will be closed on Christmas and Good Friday.

Entry Cost for Adult is A$20.00, Child A$15.00 and family A$55.00 valid for 2 adults and up to 3 children.
